Waterfall Wednesday 12/1/2021

My starter falls for today are an unnamed set of falls along an unnamed creek in the Redwoods Nature Trail area near the Chetco River in southern Oregon. From what I saw the water doesn't seem to care that it hasn't got a name and is obeying gravity anyway. This image is from a December visit a couple of years ago.

From last week Eas Chia-aig Eas is a waterfall but Chia-aig doesn't translate which is odd as most Gaelic place names have meanings like "Cauldron of the beast" , an incredibly easy image to take. I was standing on a bridge with my car parked 100yds away. The light had gone by the time I arrived but I will return to explore this area of the Highlands. Ken

I like the moss and ferns with the soft directional light as well as the convoluted water.

Darkness suits this scene quite well and especially with the winter look to the moss covered bare tree branches.

Thanks for starting this Alan, and what a great pair of images from you and Ken.

My offering this week is an archive image from American Fork River.
Nice choice for the shutter speed with this level of flow in the river. It imparts a very forceful mood to the water.
