I visited a new waterfall this last week called Upper Kentucky Falls in the Oregon Coast Range. The flow rate was likely at its lowest of the year with the rainy season not fully underway as of my visit but I suspect the falls are already running much higher with the current storms coming in off the Pacific. This view is the first good opening in the forest that lets you see the falls before the trail goes into a set of switchbacks that drop down to the base of the 100' falls. There is a lower set of falls farther down the trail but I did not visit them on this trip.

Pile on with whatever falling water you have.

Return to Rogie Falls. I returned as did the Atlantic salmon. October is a little late for the Autumn run but I watched 8 trying to jump the falls but the water level is really too low. Ken

Beautiful falls and a major bonus to get the salmon trying to make its way upstream. I always prefer lower water flows like this scene shows but I doubt the salmon share my preferences. I like the first shot including the surrounding vegetation in fall colors.
