Six miles up the road from the flatwater shot I posted yesterday is stretch of the creek that flows over a layer of basalt with lots of nice ledges and shelf formations leaving a couple of miles of whitewater. This is the first set of falls along the trail. The maples in this spot had just shed their leaves allowing a good view of the moss blankets that covers them.

That is just beautiful, Alan. Those Big Tooth Maple leaves provide a great accent in the foreground. I'll bet they were also beautiful on the moss-covered branches.

I hope this is on your wall, Phenomenal
Thanks Tim - it may well make it there. As it stands I just processed this one last night.

Thanks Doug - it ended up taking me well over two hours to wander up the trail that morning with all the stops for the moss, leaves, and waterfalls.

This is a vertical image of Sunwapta Falls that I shared as a horizontal image a couple of weeks ago in this weekly thread.
I love these falls and the gorgeous hue the glacier melt water takes on. Looks nice with the tall view that takes in more of the lay of the land around the river and the falls.

I am looking forward to seeing those images.

This is a winner Alan. Nice foreground for this creek.

Yesterday morning in the Lake District. I have known about this little waterfall for years having discovered it, just before night fall, at the end of a long hike in the hills. It hasn't rained for about a week and the waterflow is negligeable so I will have to come back. As a positive I was able to walk up the small stream and get very close for detail shots. This is a small quarry, the Lake District was a source of slate for many years and the area has hundreds of quarries. Ken
