Waterfall Wednesday 1/5/2022

Welcome to another round of Waterfall Wednesday.

My starter falls for today is another scene from Sweet Creek just upstream from the conjunction with Elk Wallow Creek. Maps don't have a name for this set of cascades like many of the other drop-offs along this creek but when there is enough water in the creek the various ledges in the basalt can put on a nice show.

Having seen Ben's lovely waterfall post last week I thought that I had taken images a little like it. This from Northern Scotland, October 2019 and never previously processed although I have processed a version of the full waterfall before. Plodda Falls are 150ft high and have a very narrow and somewhat shaky cantilevered viewing platform overlooking them where it is possible to look down, if you have the nerve. Taking long exposures is difficult as the wooden platform sways somewhat. Ken

Wow - really nice images of these falls Ken. That first shot almost left me dizzy looking down like that. My favorite is the second image showing off the amazing collection of adjacent falls in this location. The last one is quite nice as well.

Here is an urban waterfall in downtown Spokane Washington. This was taken during high water at the Spokane River falls.

Neat take on those falls Ben - I like the view from the bridge once you can find a parking place

Quite the variety of falls today. Mine is another take on a local fall - Snoqualmie falls.

Nice falls and early fall leaves Dan. I like the shutter speed for this water flow.

Pretty hard to capture with the mist from the falls rising high into the viewpoint.

A day late and a dollar short, but here I have one!

From the deep dark forests of Minnesota comes this one. This was exposure with exposing for the water. Everything else went dark. The original is even darker with less detail. So I went B&W to see how it might look as more of a minimalistic image.

Kind of an interesting look to it. You could almost make the surrounding rocks even darker to make it look like the falls were floating.
