My shot for today is a scene along the trail that follows Sweet Creek. Not huge high falls but a stretch of the creek with some nice rapids and pleasant scenery I like to shoot whenever I hike this trail.

A view of the punchbowl falls a bit different than the popular wide view. I had intended this to be darker as I metered for the falls leaving the surrounding darker. While I can push the shadows to recover that, I like this processing.

Definitely gives the scene the deep dark forest look which was fitting for this place prior to the Eagle Creek fire. I like the tighter view here. Most of the smaller vegetation surrounding the falls as shown here should have come back by now although the towering trees off to the sides of this view got torched.

Nice Bonanza of fall colors too - a pretty scene enhanced with good shadow recovery. Oh yeah - neat waterfalls too

Very wintery looking scenes - nice the rains held off while you were there. Looks like you could easily get dumped on with clouds like this. I love the view of the falls and the mountains in the first image and the beautiful clear pools in the second one.
