Vedauwoo Who?

Vedauwoo National Recreation Area is a cool little area just west of Cheyenne Wyoming. I stop there lot or run up there for a lot of reasons as it's just over an hour from my Daughters house in Northern Colorado. You guys might recall my recent Milky Way images from Ames Memorial. I had also considered Vedauwoo as it's at the same exit from the I-80.

This is actually the morning after the Northern Lights occurred, which was why I was up there for sunrise.

I went for more of an Aerochrome look. I want to find a more consistent look to my IR images, maybe I will go with the Aerochrome feel.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

PS. As I told Michael, I actually use my IR camera a lot. I take a lot of images with it, my issue is I process very little of them. :( So I am going to work on trying to process more, at least one a week for now.

Definitely a unique palette. I am surprised at the IR reflectivity of the ponderosa on the right. Firs and spruce here in the NW don't really light up like this Interesting place to play with this type of photo work.

I got my first rock climbing lessons at Vedauwoo back in the 80s, really cool place I haven't seen since then!

You are really pushing the reds here!

Thanks Alan. It's interesting that in the dead of winter basically, with sadly little snow, that the colors did come out to play.

That's so cool Michael! That kind of makes me feel like we have some kind of connection with Vedauwoo then.

And yeah, I might keep pushing the reds for a while. I think I wanted something different from the False Colors where it just looks like in every image I captured it in the fall. I think I want the image to say IR. :)

But we will see how that goes. :)
