I've been here a few times and have recently found some angles not seen by ground based photographers. I just returned from a 12 day adventure chasing the summer monsoon storms and trying to stay cool in the unusually high temps. VOTG is always a good stop and a wonderful place to camp in the cooler desert night air. This image truly expresses my feeling of the place. I hope it does for you, too.

Good out of the box thinking, Jeffrey. Driving through there numerous times, I never did see a compelling composition. I usually camp outside of the 1st overlook if I want somewhere cooler to camp.
