I heard a strange noise whilst sat in the bird hide at the weekend. As I turned around I discovered it was the flapping wings of a swan taking off. The sound travelled the full length of the pool is was that loud.

Wow!!! Yeah I love it when the water drops are frozen like that. Great job catching this. I am always just a second late when I am trying to catch this.

It was so big it took about 10 seconds to get airborne so I just snapped away on burst mode. That was the best of about 20 images. Pretty pleased with it, especially as there wasn’t much on the water. Made the trip worth while
