Unexpected Treasure

September 28th, the hurricane was just hitting the west coast of Florida, and in Colorado I'm packing up my truck with tools, supplies and a generator to head down to my Mom's house that was being pelted with 150 mile a hour winds and rain. It's was a very stressful 32+ hour drive, not know what I would fine when I arrived. There was no stopping on the way down except to refuel. But on the way back to Colorado I took a more scenic route. This image was shot in NW Louisiana. Traveling down this small back road I started over a lengthy bridge that revealed breathtaking scenes. Once on the other side I swung the truck around and parked. Other than the road, there were no signs of man anywhere, just the sounds of swamp teaming with life. It was wonderous.

This is one of several images I shot.

That's really awesome you went down there to help your mom!

As someone said, this is a really dreamy image. I love the coloring in this, IR worked perfect! I have only been able to shoot cypress trees in a swamp a couple of times, and it was so cool because for me as a photographer I had seen so many cool cypress trees in swamp shots, that I wanted to be able to experience it too. I will add this image to that list of images that really invokes a sense of feeling while viewing.
