Two icy images from Iceland

These days, it is very popular to show the fire side of Iceland, for those lucky enough to be able to travel there to photograph the new volcano. Being hard for me to travel there now, I thought I’d show the icy side of it with a couple of images from my archives.


236 sec, f/11, Hasselblad X1D, XCD 21mm


1.4 sec, f/16, Hasselblad X1D II, Voigtlander 15mm

Awesome work in both of these Vieri. The Icy side is cool to see in contrast to the Fire side.

Shots like these are a good reason to not ignore the icy side of the scenery. I like both of these images.

Very nice, Vieri. Unusual to see Kirkjufell with the falls all frozen & almost hidden in the snow.

Thank you very much Monika! :) Yes indeed, I always go to Iceland in winter, and in several trips to Kirkjufellsfoss (I guess over a dozen!) I could find such conditions only once.
