Two glass negatives, one make believe story

Just received these glass negatives this week from different sellers. Both of them are "around" 1900.

This 1st one, in relatively good condition, is from western Maine.
I call this "Lady in waiting at the shore"

This next one was in rough shape. Took a lot of spotting
I call this "Her man is on his way"

So there you have the story.

Interesting pair of shots that leave many questions about context we will never know. Your storyline is as good as any and there aren't a lot of folks still around who can contest its accuracy

Very interesting design for the sailboat in the second image - definitely confirms the date range you flagged for these images.

Ha ha, he looks irritated, like he is waiting and waiting for the Lady by the shore to come to his boat....

It's interesting to see these, I am liking small details like the small wave coming in the lake shore in #1.
