Two birds in Slocan

I'm spending a few days with my daughter in Slocan B.C in the Central Kootenays. Lots of mountains and lakes compared to my prairie home. The Mountain Ash bush just outside her door has been attracting a Townsend's Solitare. There is no branch close by for it to sit and eat so it sits for awhile on a branch and then flies up to grab a berry. Here is two shots out of the 200 or so in a burst.
There was also a female Red Crossbill in a bush close to the house.

Serious aerial skills to make the grab. Nice captures. I like the shades of red in the female Red Crossbill

What was your shutter speed in the bursts?

Thanks for your comments and interest Alan. Shutter speed was 1/2500 sec. ISO was 5000, f 2.8 as it was early morning and there was not much light yet. I was shooting through the kitchen window so the bird was happy doing its thing but the image suffers a bit. This setting take 20 fps.

Just beyond awesome, Trent, The Solitare I get in my yard from time to time. Crossbils are hard to come by in my desert environment

Fantastic shots Trent. The crossbill lighting is beautiful and the in flight shots were mastered Like Alan said.
