Torch Glow

While dealing with cabin fever, I decide to take my FS converted DSLR, throw the old Nikkor 55mm Macro with no external filters with a custom WB preset and shoot our indoor Torch Glow Bougainvillea. I really didnt know what the outcome would be, but I didnt really expect images with what looked like more visible light. Is this whats expected?

If most of the scene your camera captured is normal visible light then yes since full spectrum includes visible light. Your RAW capture should include the IR range light waves as well if you were to apply filters to remove the visible light in post although I am not clear on how you would go about that.

Nice plant BTW.

It has a natural light look to it. You FS conversion gets you IR and UV as well. In this case it appears that the visible spectrum was dominant.

Ok I understand now, I guess that if I were to take it outside then the results could possibly different. I was thinking that because I was indoors there may not have been the presence of a lot of UV or IR? And yes Alan the Torch Glow is such a beautiful plant and are usually outdoor plants in AZ, but here they cant survive the winters. But we love them and decided to try one indoors and its worked out really well.

This looks super cool Sonny, even if it's not what you expected. For some of us getting more into IR converted cameras, this is a good lesson and a good thinking point. That first one is my favorite.
