Most of my images are from prairie scenes so imagining a Ridgeline needs some imagination.
A high point of land in Southern Saskatchewan.
The Great Sandhills in Saskatchewan.
These next two are from Banff National Park so do involve mountains where a Ridgeline is much more traditional.

Trent, wonderful and beautiful images you shared! Thank you so much for doing so. I like your interpretation of this week's Task. In your first image, I love the snowy field with the incredible sky above. Gorgeous image. And your second image of the Sandhills is equally nice. Great skies captured in both. It's nice to see people in these vast images showing how vast each landscape is. The Banff images are my favorites with the first Banff image my most favorite––incredible image! "You did good!" I love its simplicity and strength in its composition. Very nice. Your second Banff image capturing the sunlight illuminating a portion of the peaks also is a great capture too. Again thank you for sharing.

Alan, interesting selections and all are beautifully captured—and thank you for sharing each of them. I like the panoramic compositions for several of your images displaying the ridgeline more effectively. I like the Strawberry Mountain image with its layers of the green foreground and the blue background beyond of mountains and sky. Very nice. I love the Chief Joseph Mountain capture—with the perfect reflection. A definite favorite for the colors, reflection and composition. I also love the Bryce Canyon image—with snow! Always a special place and more so with the snowy addition—and a definite favorite. The Alabama Hills/Sierra image is another favorite composition with vastly different foreground and background layers—a well seen scene. The Edge of the Kaiparowits composition is aided by the curvy dirt road winding through this composition…and the beautiful sky above. Very nice. Again thanks for sharing Alan.

Beautiful compositions Michael you shared for this Task. All are well composed and edited—with several B&W images! The Cathedral Gorge long exposure featuring star trails is a perfect composition and surprising colors in the sky. Very nice and a favorite. The Silver Peaks is a strong composition accentuated by the B&W editing—love the layers. A definite favorite too. I love the simplicity of the White Sands image—beautiful blues and light captured in this strong simplistic composition. Very nice and a definite favorite. The Columbia River Gorge is an interesting capture with strong components of sky, ridges and trees in an interesting arrangement. The strong B&W image of Hwy 95 Utah works well revealing interesting textures in the rocky butte contrasting the smooth clouds above—helped by the long shutter exposure. Thanks for sharing Michael.

Craig, gorgeous images—both with and without titles. “While You Were Sleeping” is a gorgeous image, and I’m so glad you weren’t doing so for this image. Very nice and a definite favorite. “Storm Over Cedar” is a perfect composition and aptly named title. Nice. “A Knife’s Edge” is a truly beautiful image and aptly titled and included in this Task. A definite favorite for sure. “Another Day” is a quiet and beautiful image—love the many layers of color. ”Edge of Earth”—great title and a perfect composition in many respects: strong shadowed foreground and the sunlit buttes in the middle ground and again shadowed buttes background. Very nice and a definite favorite. “Jagged Edge” is another well composed image with the strong foreground dune edged by the rocky ridgeline above as the title suggests. Favorite for sure! The first untitled image is a unique composition of discordant features: a foreground of small rocks yielding to the smooth hills beyond. Very unique! The second untitled image captures the light and shadowed detail well of this landscape‘s ridgelines. Another very nice image. Thanks for sharing all of these images, both titled and untitled.

Larry, you captured some gorgeous images on your recent trip! Thanks for sharing them too! The Grand Canyon looks beautiful on a rainy day too! Very nice image and a favorite. The Zion image certainly displays many ridges in this beautiful image—another favorite. The Bryce Canyon image is gorgeous and a definite favorite—love the colors captured. (Bryce is always nice). Your Cedar Breaks is gorgeous too—love the light and shadows displayed across the great view. Very nice image. The Painted Desert is well-named with this image. Beautiful. The Saguaro Cactus National Monument is an inviting image with the pebbled path leading into this beautiful landscape. Thank you for sharing these images Larry!

Jameel, thank you for your kind words. You have certainly shared five very beautiful landscapes—with ridgelines. I absolutely love the Mt. Rainier landscape with the field of flowers foreground. Love all the layers in this composition, even present in the flowers, and of course the intermediate hills. The blue mountains beyond compete this colorful landscape—a definite favorite. Very nice. The Valley of Fire image is a strong and colorful composition. Love the light and the colors it enhances. Very nice—and favorite too. The Factory Butte is an interesting image—love the perspective of lines leading to the centered butte in the distance. Very nice. The Deadhorse Point SP is another favorite with the light and shadows accentuating the rock formations—and with the moon above. Very nice capture. (And favorite too). Your last image asks the question “Jameel, why would you venture out to take photos when you can shoot this at home!” Thanks again for sharing each of these wonderful images.
