I am (mostly) leaving out locations that I have been to many times, since that seems a little unfair. For the most part, making return visits to locations has allowed me to capture more compelling photos (usually with better gear). I can think of at least two cases though (Sedona's Red Rock Crossing and Yosemite's Horsetail Falls) where my first visit produced my best result. It is amazing how much the quality of light matters
1) The Davenport Crack

4) Bowling Ball beach - this is my exception, I've been here many times. I like this example as it represents how I learned the area to capture more action in the second photo.
First visit (really was my first visit)
