Thursday’s Task: “Been there, done that…again!” Your interpretation. My examples below:

Another great idea John. I have a couple of interpretations of this theme.
Two views of my city at different times.
August 2004, daytime.

November 2002, night time.

White-tailed Jackrabbits are often seen wandering our city streets and parks. They change colour with the seasons so while not a landscape they do have a 'been there done that' vibe from season to season. (Yah..I know... bit of a stretch for the theme!!)

Winter coat.

Trent, love your interpretations—and images. Beautiful city, Saskatoon? I like the rabbit images, very nice—hey, they’re posing on a landscape! I especially favor the middle image—very nice. Thank you for sharing.

I am (mostly) leaving out locations that I have been to many times, since that seems a little unfair. For the most part, making return visits to locations has allowed me to capture more compelling photos (usually with better gear). I can think of at least two cases though (Sedona's Red Rock Crossing and Yosemite's Horsetail Falls) where my first visit produced my best result. It is amazing how much the quality of light matters :)

1) The Davenport Crack

First visit:

Third (or fourth?) visit

2) Mossbrae Falls

Second visit

3) 3rd Vermilion Lake in Banff (not complaining about either of these)

First winter visit

Second winter visit

4) Bowling Ball beach - this is my exception, I've been here many times. I like this example as it represents how I learned the area to capture more action in the second photo.

First visit (really was my first visit)

Its hard to get exactly the same view for the different visits but these are pretty close.

First up is Merriman Falls on the Olympic Peninsula:

Fall:

Winter:

And again in the Fall:

Beautiful captures Alan, I especially love the Merriman Falls images—both seasons, with the winter image as my favorite. Thank you for sharing all of these.

Kyle, very beautiful landscapes you’ve shared—thank you! Perhaps the Vermilion Lake captures are my favorites—but they have a LOT of competition! As you indicated above often the images from subsequent visits proved more satisfactory to your liking—however I love them all!

How about the same image shot in spring, fall, and winter (a three pete) ? ;)

Bear Creek in Spring!

Bear Creek in Fall. ;)

Bear Creek in Winter and monochrome! :)
Larry, beautiful seasonal captures you’ve shared and thank you for doing so. A perfect landscape for showing the seasons—very, very nice! I like them all and sepia-edited is very special. My favorite is the autumn image—gorgeous!
