My environment is covered in snow and ice almost half of the year so I have lots of ice images. Here are a few.

Blowing bubbles with soap and corn syrup.

The river valley in Saskatoon is covered in frost when the atmospheric conditions are just right.

The rising and lowering of the river along with wind often gives beautiful ice formations on branches hanging close to the water.

If you just don't breathe when outside when it is -30 or -40 you don't have to worry about 'ice face'😃

This is one topic I'm glad I don't have a lot of images for since I moved up to the Pacific NW so I could escape Utah winters. We do get some episodes of cold weather but happily nothing like Trent's examples. I have experienced temperatures in the -20 to -30 range as an undergraduate at Utah State University in the early 70's and decided I didn't want to live in a place that cold.

If you can get up there the Columbia River Gorge can be quite photogenic with ice. The Gorge is notorious for ice storms during the winter months.

I am jealous of your winter weather and your abilities to capture it. Here it is usually damp and just above freezing and doesn't make for good photography, but here are a few that you may well have seen before. Ken

You wrote ICE ? This is EXTREME ICE CLOSE UP (60mm macro + 3 ext. tubes) shots, Ice drops frozen on a plastic panel outside. They were shot at night with light coming from behind. A lot of pareidolia. What do you see ?

Rick, I love these exquisite abstract ice images—very, very nice! Love the colors captured too. Thank you for sharing. I imagine that was quite a camera “setup” required for these. I especially favor the middle image of the three—thanks again.

Trent, living here in Tennessee, I’m unfamiliar with the term “ice face”—but my wife from Iowa has experienced this too! I like the soap/corn syrup bubble too. I also like the ice branch formations. My favorite is the Saskatoon river valley landscape—perfect!

Alan, capturing the falls in winter certainly adds to the landscape’s beauty—ice is nice! 😊 I love all three, but my favorite perhaps is the Shepperd’s Dell—perfect! And thank you for sharing!
