Thursday’s Task: Seen better days. (No selfies please!) 😊

I’m posting landscapes where the trees within the scenes had “seen better days”—but please interpret the Task to your liking. My examples below:

Great Basin National Park, NV

I have a professional degree in studying things that were well beyond their Best Used By Date (including the occasional used citizen) so this is a favorite subject of mine

Rather than trees I am going for boats that have seen better days, it could have been churches and castles, perhaps next time.

Ken, beautiful B&W images—and love the color images as well! Perhaps my favorite is your second B&W image. Nice! The boats are great subjects—nice interpretation of the Task!

Jeffrey, wide variety of very nice images for this Task—I especially love the Rural Montana, the cabin in California, the Main Street in Bodie, and MOST of all the camera owners manual! (Was it really?) Thank you for sharing.

Excellent images Dan. You have shared (thank you) a wide variety of very interesting images! I love the “Time passes you by” with the old vs. new contrast—nice idea! I also favor the “Death Valley car lot”, the “Vine take over”, and “Ready for delivery”—very, very nice images!

A few from my Archive! ;)

Yet another interesting task, John. Here are my contributions. Welcome back. We missed you.

A car suffering damage from a tornado.

This Jeffrey Pine atop Sentinel Dome in Yosemite National Park suffered many years of lightning strikes. It eventually succumbed a few years after I took this image.

Doug, I love the Jeffrey Pine image for the color and composition—very, very nice. I also like the Bodie ghost town window, a very nice capture too. I hope the car owner in the first image had insurance—I guess it could have been worse! Thanks for sharing!

OK, like all photographers I'm attracted to old and worn out! I probably have posted some before...
Don't want to co-mingle with ancient ruins so I'll stick with semi-modern stuff...

Better stop.
I could go on for a long time with these type shots! The trick is to stop, when you see something.

Craig, awesome images (and titles!) you’ve shared. I love the “Return to Sender” image—nice composition and title and “Broken Dreams” as well. I love the light captured in “No Fly Zone” and “Butch Cassidy’s Childhood Home” is another favorite too. Thank you for sharing.

We had a a pretty serious storm here in the PNW (termed a bomb cyclone). It knocked off power for most of the area and we just got it back (lost wed night). So a day late.

This is a landscape forum so this is likely out of place, but I wanted to try something different. From Boeing Museum of Flight.

Jameel, sorry about the storm—hope all is well. Interesting museum—and image! Thanks for sharing something different!
