Dan, incredible "layer" images you've shared––I love the B&W images, each layer is more defined by its tonal value. Very nice! Your Turtle Back Dome View is perhaps my favorite for its perfect simplicity. Very, very nice!

John, that day the park was full of smoke from numerous fires. All the icons were bathed in it. Decide to visit this spot & see what it offered.

I was thinking that layers could also be in a side to side plane as well as from top to bottom. These are intended to be images with that in mind.

Those fog layers in #1 and 2 are so amazing! I have got to capture that myself. Your images are just so awesome!

Is there a time of the year better then others for that fog? How often does that occur?

Thanks Jim! Yes, definitely in the summer. All depends on wind, temp, humidity and whatnot. But the best time of year to get shots like that are June-August! Happens quite often during those months but the height seems to differ every evening. Let me know if you ever come up this way, we can link up on Mount Tam!

Trent, I apologize for not seeing your posts before now, but I’m so glad I finally have—very nice! Love your directional variation of layers in the snowdrift image—well seen. And the rainbow image inclusion is inspired. The prairie grass/bike trail images are nice as well—love the winter version!
