Sonny, your second image is my favorite––beautiful subtle blue tones creating a very special image. The first image is my second favorite––love the warm golden tones. Some from NM and a Utah image.

Thank you very much John! I enjoy the Thursday Task that you present each week as it forces me to go through my archives.Sonny, your second image is my favorite––beautiful subtle blue tones creating a very special image. The first image is my second favorite––love the warm golden tones.
Nice "dam" photo Rick! An interesting take on the Task this week––muted colors in the sky to very muted elsewhere!Interesting... Not to sure about the way to do this, here's the Roosevelt Dam in Az.

Jameel, I love the first image you've shared––love the muted colors present and a very nice composition––my favorite. The Castle Valley image works well for this week's Task as well––beautifully understated color. Not home today so don't have access to my stash. Here are a couple of quick ones from what is saved on my phone.

Great memories from the Tetons Alan! That was a fun trip. My favorite part was the banana split at Dairy Queen. My nemesis for fall trips to interesting places has been wildfire smoke from other places obliterating the views and generally muting the colors I went to see. I usually make an effort to mitigate the smoke in the scenes like this but for this Task thread I left them as is.
First up is the Mt. Rainier area with a view from the trails around Paradise Lodge:

Followed by Glacier National Park. This is the view from the north shore of Swiftcurrent Lake:

And finally one from a trip to the Tetons where I met up with Ben, Jim and Rick for some autumn shooting. We had one morning where a lot of smoke blew up from somewhere south of us. I might have been the only one who bothered to get a camera out at this stop.

Beautiful choices for this Task Doug––the Bond Falls image is special, I love the color and its composition––my favorite. The lupines meadow image's muted colors definitely works well. The silhouetted bare tree is also very nice, I really like its cast shadow in the foreground leading the eye to the tree,I am little late because I have been busy doing other things. Here are a few.

That's what is always great about these Tasks are all the interpretations by the members––I definitely did not think of IR images for the Task but it works and you had a great idea! I think my favorite is the second image but it's a close call. I like them both––a lot!Hey John, I am not sure you had Infrared images in mind when you were thinking of "Muted Colors" but for better or worse, here are a couple of muted color Infrared images from Joshua Tree.
