This is the Palouse

Spending many days in the Palouse region of Washington was exhilarating. Saw so many beautiful places and classic scenes, but the views from Steptoe Butte and Skyline Drive were the highlights. Here's two that define the experience.

I have never managed to make it out there when most of the fields are green like this. I like the patchy sunlight to help out with the highlights and shadows of the rolling fields. I hope you had your drone with you.

Classic Palouse. Good to know that the Steptoe is open now. When I visited last year it was closed.

Thanks Alan. June is generally the recommended month if these are the colors you seek. I imagine later, with more browns mixed in, also looks great. Planned this trip last year! I did fly the drone from Skyline Drive.

yes, and the entire road up is newly paved with a nice parking area at the top.
