Thin Clouds at Dusk

Last night looked like a no color sunset with thin gray clouds blanketing the skies but it turned out they were almost translucent with the setting sun offering up an interesting show near the horizon. This is a 3 vertical panel panorama at 168mm.

I do have to feel sorry for the crews on the ships that call on Portland and Vancouver. The freighter anchored on the Columbia on the right has been there for 3 days now waiting for a berth in the ports.

C&C always welcome.

Hey Alan, it's always great when we don't expect color but get some.

That's a very nice view, and yeah, 3 days sitting there so close to getting off has to be hard.

Thanks Jim - the colors were an unexpected but pleasant surprise. A lot of times ships come into the ports and unload their cargo but have to wait around to pick up a load of something else to take somewhere else. I think that's true for most ports. This particular freighter is riding fairly high in the water so I am guessing it's waiting to pick up a load before heading back to the Pacific. There is some kind of Mariner's resource center in Vancouver that I think sailors can tap while they are waiting.
