The View from Painted Mountain

A tough steep hike off trail got us to our camp near the summit of Painted Mountain in the central Cascades a few summers ago. My friend Tom is pictured here on top in the evening as I hiked the ridge looking for a location to shoot sunset.

Thanks for all the comments. This cool little peak is in my backyard, off the Mountain Loop Hwy. Now I need to get back up there in the spring to ski it! I might have to post a few more of the sunset/rise in the Travelogue forum.

Very nice. Like the foreground patches of snow and the hint of color on them - kind of serves as the lead into the person on the peak.
