The Tower of no Power

This little stone tower is in Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada. It sits between the small campground and the namesake "Cathedral" rock formations of the park. I used a small flashlight with red filter for the side light and another white light to shine through the window from behind the tower. That big yellow blob of light is from Las Vegas - about 150 miles to the south!

Delightful result - your lighting and the LV lights add some interesting elements to this composition. The MW almost looks like its erupting out of the LV glow.

Cathedral Gorge is a place I have yet to go. It's been on my radar for a while, but just haven't made it. It seems like a good place for the Milky Way despite the Vegas Light Pollution.

I like this image a lot. Good job on the light painting and the Milky Way.

Thanks Alan. Hard to believe how intense the glow is considering its distance from the camera. Every time I think about how much energy is wasted on Las Vegas lights I get angry.
