The Dolomites in monochrome

Don't get me wrong, colours are great, but to me there just is something special in the graphic power of a B&W Fine Art landscape. Here two Dolomites landscape with human elements in them:

Hasselblad X1D II, Voigtlander Super-Wide Heliar 15mm. 181 sec.

Leica SL, Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16-35mm. 150 sec.

Comments & critiques welcome. Best regards,

Vieri

The leading line of the trail in the first image with the clouds appearing to radiate out from the peaks is captivating Vieri. The second image is quite good but I keep scrolling back up to the first one for a longer look.

Hey Vieri! There is something powerful about B&W when done right. And you have done it right.

I really like #1 and for a simple reason. I find it fascinating to see an image with the hiking trail in it. All of the Dolomite photos I have seen in the past are from a distance with no trail to be seen. As someone who hikes a lot of trails, to see how a trail was constructed in a foreign country and at a place as famous the the Dolomites I find very interesting.

Hey Jim, thank you for your kind comment about B&W, glad you enjoyed them! :) About the images, I am glad that #1 "spoke" to you in terms of adding a story to the image itself!

Nice pair of images. I am also drawn to the first.
