The Crescent and the Soap Bubble (NGC6888 and PN G75.5+1.7)

This is a reworking of an image I originally took back in Oct 2022 of the Crescent Nebula (NGC6888). This time I have added a second panel to include the Soap Bubble nebula (PN G75.5+14.7).

Shot in HOO with RGB stars.

The Soap Bubble is extremely faint, and needed a lot of OIII data (over 15hrs) to bring out the detail.

Gear: ASI1600MM; Esprit 100ED; EQ6 R pro mount
Acquisition: N.I.N.A;
Panel 1 (Crescent): Ha: 132 x 150s (5.5 h); OIII: 112x150s (4.7 h), RGB: 10x30s
Panel 2 (Soap Bubble): Ha: 89x150s (3.7 h); OIII: 360x150s (15.25 h)
Processing: Pixinsight; Photoshop

The full res image is here: https://astrob.in/ny8wg3/0/

Thanks for looking.

That's some great work Andy. I am glad you added more to this. And yeah, the Soap Bubble is super faint, you have it displaying just right I think.

Fantastic - you have the Soap Bubble really popping out nicely with the blue/red contrasting colors. Excellent detail in the Crescent too - love that outer shell of OIII.
