The Cave Nebula

Taken in September and about 10 hours exposure using the ASI2600MC and Esprit 100ED. I found this target a bit of a challenge in processing, I think I have finally got it how I want it.

The "Cave Nebula", in the centre of this image, is a popular name for Sh2-155, an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus. It appears cave-like due to a dark, hollowed-out area surrounded by a bright, ionized gas rim, which is an active star-forming region.

The blue area of nebulosity to the upper left of the cave is the reflection nebula vdb155.

The high-res version and acquisition details can be found here: https://app.astrobin.com/i/jb7gcg

Awesome Andy! This is really sweet!

The Cave nebula is one of the hardest ones to capture in my book. It's way fainter then it seems. I have captured it but was not happy at all with it, I probably need to go after it again.
