Hey All,

I’m down at Organ Pipe hiding from the weather (for the most part) and there have been some gorgeous sunsets, one of which I slept through accidentally and had no time to get my gear out and get setup etc. it was probably the reddest sunset I’ve ever seen! Oh well, I guess you’ll have to take my word for it haha. This is from last night, another stunning sunset, I hope I’ve done it justice. This is a two-shot blend using my Rokinon 10mm f3.5 @f11

Cheers,

Aaron

That sky sure is awesome! Wow.... and the 10mm really helps in ones like this to make the sunset stretch on forever. The ground layer is cool with all of the desert plants stretching up into the sky.

Thanks Gents! I’m hoping for another show tonight, we shall see!
Fair warning - this is the sucker attraction for the snowbirds (people who hang out in the desert in the winter): Tasty winter sunsets and warmer temps - so they pack up and move down there.

And then you discover that combined fall/winter/spring are only 3 months long and the rest of the year is SUMMER 😁

The sky is fantastic with transition from orange to blue and clear striped patterns, but I'm having trouble with the ground layer. You've got some of everything, but your position for the ground doesn't look intentional. The cholla at the right corner is drawing my eye too much.

Fair enough, the foreground in this part of the desert is nearly impossible to do pleasingly with an ultrawide lens. The closest thing to symmetry or balance available was the two ocotillo cactus that are reaching up past the horizon. The foreground in a pic like this in my opinion is just an anchor, the sky doesnt require a lead-in for the eye as some subjects do. Just my opinion.

Cheers
