Sandstone tapestry along White Dome's trail - Valley of Fire, NV. Jan., 2016.
Thank you, Alan. A landscape orientation is tempting but here I tried going portrait and it worked well for me.I know this rock wall but you had much better light to work with than I did when I hiked that trail. Very nice take on these wind sculptures. You came up with a much better composition for these formations than anything I came up with. I like how the backdrop layer contrasts with the colors and shapes of the front of the rock face.
Thank, Michel. Some of the sandstone stuff out there is quite fascinating as well as unexpected.Well seen and captured. Shows both the uniformity and whimsical side of Mother Nature.
Thanks again, Jim. This is my 3d time there but I still have places I want to check out in the future.VoF is one of my favorite places to go, I used to go there 5 or 6 times a year when my daughter lived in Las Vegas.
So it's great to see this one. The way you captured this is so cool and rather fascinating.
Thank you. It's quite close to the trail so finding it isn't very hard but it is tricky to put into a composition.Good eye to spot this small scene. Fascinating shapes and textures.
