Swan River Stars (+new final edit)

I'm really interested in the new IRIX 21 f/1.4. I've been wanting something like that for a while with an electrical connection. The Samyang doesn't have it and the Sigma lenses in that range are known to have bad coma. I just need to see some good sample images.

For this one, I knew going in that it was a 35mm scene so the MW would need to really be in the right spot and would look large in the sky.

Now that's interesting! I will have to think about that. It would be nice to have one fast lens that is not quite as wide for when I do my timelapses. I wonder how it will compare to the Samyang. With the Nikon I do have the electrical connections. The Irix seems to be about $300 more from the pricing i can see so far.

If I recall correctly, the Nikon is pretty good for Astro. The Canon lenses all have horrible coma

Excellent image Kyle and good on you for braving the low temperature. I like Venus's position above the snow-covered mountains and the low angle of the core.

Kyle, this one is done well, all the pieces fit in: the snowy mountains under the Milky Way is my favorite scene.
