Superstition, right place, wrong time

As usual, I should have been here late afternoon, instead of morning, when the mountain wasn't shaded. Had a nice walk around though & enjoyed the morning.

Yeah and the poppies, but the day we left I found out Bush Hwy has poppies blooming. I was looking to go to Globe. All the rain has really made the deserts quite beautiful in AZ.

Really sweet Darcy! Even shooting into the sun in #1 can't hide the beauty of the Superstition mountains. I like that green foreground you composed it with.

And a deer? Now that's pretty rare I think.

I was through that area about 3 weeks ago, so unfortunately I didn't get any poppies. I am jealous!

I didn't get any poppies either , about a week or two too early. I was just glad to get out with my camera for a few hours

The Superstitions is one of my favorite places in the Valley of the Sun, and this is a nice image even at the wrong time of day.

I can say the many times that I've hiked around there I have never seen a deer! I have had a run in with a rattlesnake though, and snake season is approaching. But very cool to see a deer and be ready with your camera.

I was in Picacho yesterday, and there were a lot of poppies. But due to the rain and cloud cover they were closed up, but the day wasn't a totally bust. Like you, it was good to be out with my camera.

Glad you had a good day! Yep there were around 5 of them near the farthest day use area. I would have loved a few more sightseeing days there, but we were helping out my mom in law so family before pleasure hahahah.
