Sunrise At Sunrise Point

Hi y'all.

This is the most popular spot for viewing sunrise with good reason too. In the past I have always taken wide angle views, this time I used a long telephoto zoom lens. At sunrise,. the hoodos were just glowing red, lucky for me, it was a 10'F morning, my hands were frozen after 5 min shooting. My eyes were attracted to the hoodos a bit further, I did a tight crop.

Enjoy.

Love Bryce, I had hoped to have gotten there in December but wasn't able to.

I like this and the lighting sure is nice Oliver!

As an aside, I have actually found that Sunrise is better at Sunset Point, and Sunset is better at Sunrise Point. So I always capture my sunrise/sunsets opposite of what the points are.

Jim, thank you ! I need to get back to the folder, I might have taken this at sunset point; it was cold, the snow would freeze on the tripod.

One of my favorite places to shoot and you did it justice with this image. Looks really nice with the fresh snow.

Thanks Alan, this place is easy to get too, usually the platform is filled with tourist, lucky me it was so cold, only me & my students.

Shooting that beauty would be addictive I bet. What a great rendition of the scene Oliver.

Thanks Trent, the frigid cold air really changed the scene, even with long telephoto 100-400mm lens, there was no atompsheric interference.
