Sunday Gardens 8/22/2021

Sunday mornings are always a nice time to enjoy a quiet and peaceful stroll through gardens. Sunday visits to the Portland Japanese Garden was my primary moment of serenity each week before I retired which allowed for a lot of opportunities to capture some of its beauty.

This shot is a small scene from within Heavenly Falls taken during a fall visit on one of those Sundays.

Do you tag your photos? While I don’t use LR for processing I add all my photos to its database and that makes finding easy. After I download my photos the first thing I do is add tags to the RAW images and they carry over to the processed ones as well.

My photo system has changed over the years and the images I am looking for are at least 15 years old. I probably don't have any copies on my hard drive, so I would need to look in my old DVD's or even CD's.

I like this scene from those gardens. It has a much more open canopy than the Portland Japanese Garden.

Shooting the Portland garden on a day like when you took this can be problematic given the dark shadows of the tall trees and the bright light from above. That was one of the reasons I always preferred shooting the Portland garden early in the morning.

What a super cool Waterfall image Alan! That is one cool garden that I need to visit!
