Subdued Snowy Sunset

I just got back to Colorado and I was greeted that same evening with some snow! It was supposed to be only 1" but ended up being 4", so yesterday I had a great time going out before sunset and looking for some photogenic scenes. The clouds never gave way, but they must have thinned enough to get some color as the sun was setting.

For those familiar with some of my past images in Northern Colorado, this is where the Red Barn I capture off and on is located. They have done some work there and extended the trail a bit. This is a frozen lake, and just on the other side is a bunch of houses. I can't always block the houses from being in the image, but I try the best I can.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I like the effect of the glowing sky Jim. Very nice.
Thanks Trent, I liked that glow, and was glad I could run down the trail a bit to get an angle where I could get the lake with some trees while avoiding the houses in the image. Which would be to the left. The barn and this area is right next to the end of a subdivision. I will post an image of the barn later in the week and you can see some houses poking through the bare branches.
