Some Like It Hot

NuMex Twilight peppers are a hybrid chili created at New Mexico State University that offer up an amazing array of color. They are far from benign if you wish to sample one packing quite a punch at around 40,000 Scoville heat units - about the same level as cayenne and tabasco peppers and nearly 20 times hotter than jalapeño peppers. I shot these in a nursery display with my iPhone using Adobe's Project Indigo camera app.

C&C always welcome.

Nice. 20 times hotter than jalapeno? I can barely handle the hot jalapeños.
Thanks Jameel - I wasn't expecting the level of heat in these chili peppers for a plant being sold for decoration in front of an FM store until I looked up what they were. Eating one of these chilis would rip my aging mouth and stomach apart.

I can't handle anything, I have never liked spices. So I am an odd one, even in my family. A little salt is all I like on my food. Not even black pepper, that's too much for me. So you had my eyes watering just looking at the photo Alan! :)

Thanks Jim - I do like some spices but not when you start talking about heat levels like these peppers can deliver. They do offer colorful displays as potted plants.

Yeah, they remind me of small Christmas lights sometimes with their smaller size and shape.
