Dave just moved me from really odd duck to minority status

but to reclaim odd duck, my new landing pad on top of the old one

the Canon paper envelop became necessary with the mini 3 pro. The landing feet are so short the rubber pad was not flat enough.
The Volt is a phev and if I am careful one tank of gas and daily charging will get me from May until the end of December.

6+ months on a tank of gas is rather amazing.
That only works when I can keep the trips within the battery range(50-70 miles). Every 6 weeks the engine runs for 10 minutes if I haven't used gas. And after we are below 37 degrees the engine runs to warm up the battery. So by December I have to watch the fuel gauge.

This is the landing pad I use for the Mini 2. Not sure if it will work for your Mini 3, but I think it would.

That's totally amazing!

And by the way I like your creativity with your current landing pad. :)

I think that carrying Portra film rolls in my glove box might raise my photo mpg a few.... :)

That's a serious off-road vehicle Rick - how does it handle on the highway configured like this?

No winch? That's about the only thing that would leave you out of the Entirely Unstoppable category.
A winch is on my short list. Once I regeared it, I cannot tell the difference in performance between stock and how it is configured now. However, I get 10 mpg highway in the thing.

10mpg? Yikes - I was getting 16mpg in my motorhome

That's my problem with going too crazy with a lift and tires. I am probably driving on the freeway and paved roads 75% of the time, then another 20% is on dirt roads that even a 2wd car could drive on, and I would say 4% of the time I am driving where I need 4x4 low, but my clearance is just enough, and maybe 1% of the time is where I wish I had 1 more inch of clearance. So I don't want to do anything so radical that it messes up my normal driving. I drove up the coast on Sunday and I was getting 22mpg on the freeway/highway. I will be getting K02's, so that will get knocked down to 21mpg from all that I have read.

I will be getting regular size K02's in Colorado, and also get a heavy duty skid plate installed in Colorado when I go back next week. That will be it for mine for now. a 2 or 3" lift is about $3000, so I will wait for another year for that.

Old Faithful. I’ve had this Camry for almost 10 years now and put 100k miles on it. I’ve been as far as the Grand Canyon with it. Its only (minor) flaw, just a small one, is that it is not 4WD. So I mostly stick to paved roads in and around Bishop. If I’m feeling more adventurous, I have friends with trucks!

Camry's are sure cool Michael! 4x4's are awesome, but in reality the majority of our driving doesn't need a 4x4, so you are good.

Only 100,000 miles! That's really great you have such low mileage on a 10 year old vehicle. Being a Toyota, you could keep this another 20 years! :)

It's closer to 140k now, but yes it'll last another 20 years with regular maintenance!

Great ride. There are
Watching you tool around the Maze with your build convinced me I overcompensated.
Well I had my first defeat yesterday. I was going up a 4 rated road and got high centered. I might have made it with a spotter, but I was alone. I had to jack up the whole front end in order to free the truck and then back up. I then had to back down hill over really loose rocks and a steep slope to get to a turn around.
