screaming eagle

a much smaller osprey with a fistful of dirt thought that he’d pick a fight with this eagle. but he wisely decided it was indeed a very bad idea once the eagle started yelling at him to stay 6ft back. i got a few shots of the two yelling at each other and posturing but none of them were tack sharp.

i was going to hang out at crackhead alley until closer to sunset but then 3 cop cars showed up and flew past me and scared the birds off so i decided it was time to head out. esp. after spending all day at work on friday dealing with a standoff involving a sniper in a wooded housing development. nope, not staying for round 2.

This one certainly looks sharp enough at web resolution. Nice capture.

Doesn't sound like a nice place to hang out with the kind of activity you describe,

Oh man, what an awesome photo! That is great timing there that you got.

And yeah... after what happened to you on Friday, I think it was time to call a wrap on this one.

Outstanding, I just love to hear them call. I would not want to pick a fight with this dude.
thanks ben. their screaming sound is pretty unique.

this one and a few others ended up pretty sharp, but there was a lot of movement when the osprey got close.

it's not a nice place to hang out. but my local refuge is closing early so i'm kinda stuck out here for awhile. i try to take two friends, one human one metal.

Very nice image, Pepper. The backstory is great too.
thanks douglas.

unfortunately exciting has become the norm around here. since the rona lockdown too many people are drinking or going crazy and crime has gone through the roof. we expected the number of car crashes to decrease. it hasn't. now instead of hitting other cars they're running into everything else. impaired driving incident statistics are still kinda early to be exact, but pretty insane so far.

That's so sad to hear, hard to understand what makes some people do the things they do. Be safe out there.
