Great recovery Ben!

Yeah, 3 stop would be way too much! :) I was a 1 or 2 stop ND grad guy back in the day.

I will tell you this Ben.... you should print this. Your recovery really makes this look perfect to me.
Thanks Jim I am thinking about printing it

A real rescue this time. Shooting into the sun on a sultry Portuguese afternoon. Everything looked washed out and I was just about to delete the file when I thought about dehaze and the much better sky selection tools. A few minutes later we have this, not a portfolio shot by any means but a nice reminder of a great trip. I have added a bus image showing that modern transport and medieval streets don't work. I would hesitate to drive through here but with much inching backwards and forwards the driver managed. The road is a 2 way street with traffic moving (carefully) in both directions and pedestrians dodging into shops to allow the traffic to pass. Portugal has the highest death rates from road traffic accidents in Western Europe although I found their drivers to be quite slow and considerate. Ken

Time to jump in with your old reworked images.

This image is from Mar 2014. I have shown it many times but was always disappointed. I had used a Lee 3 stop nd grad and it was too much, rendering the foreground too bright and with a color cast in the sky. I stopped using ND grads after this trip.

For this image I darkened the foreground to more evenly match the sky.
