Pile on with your archive images.

Today I am kicking this off with an image from the Patriarchs in Zion NP. The naked sky kept this one off the radar, but I like the formations and decided to give teh sky the dark look. I could have done this as a B&W, but B&W is not my thing,.

'Nuther deep dive for this one - a scanned shot of a bent tree in the bottom of the Maze with the Chocolate Drops above. The slide was in pretty bad shape between harsh light and some nasty color shifts. I decided to forgo trying to fix the colors and took it to B&W to see what I could save.

Great view of the Chocolate drops. You had to do some hiking to get to this location.

Not all that far in - this is not far from where the trail drops down to the level of the wash. This was almost 50 years ago and I was in pretty good shape back then.

1979 Boothbay Harbor taken by a 15 year-old Amy

This was really fun and a nice break. I'm currently in the very time consuming process of transferring 35mm slides over to digital images.

Wow, I have not had any luck digitizing my slides. This is a good example of a great job. How are you scanning them? Most of my scans which were all done professionally, including Kodak have been very low resolution.

Thanks Ben, I'm using a PrimeFilm XA film/slide scanner and SilverFast AI Studio software, between the two they do a pretty darn good job. I can't even tell you how many slides I have to scan, it's going to be an insane winter project or longer. I'm going to sell the unit when I'm done or see if I can offer my services to others.

Thanks for the info Amy. I have it in my Amazon wish list. I notice that many people don't like Silverfast because it's too complicated. What is your experience here.

Once you've done one or two it's a piece of cake. Make sure Silverfast is included with the scanner, some don't, but B&H it does.
