Salt Lake

This is not a lake often photographed. Partly because the experience of being close to it isn't fun - the brine shrimp and brine flies are hard to get around. I visited this once more out of curiosity. This is one of the images from that trip.

Looks nicer in a photo someone else took instead of being there in person. This almost looks inviting.

At least when I still lived in SLC and the lake had a lot more water in it the odor in mid summer could be rather overwhelming. It was like hanging out next to settling ponds at a wastewater treatment plant. I am amazed at how low the water level is these days after seeing it threatening I-15 and I-80 back in 1982. Strong winter storms coming in from the northwest had a habit of churning the lake water followed by the winds shifting to blow directly over SLC. The news weather forecasters called it Lake Stink because it did.

Wow! So green!

I am glad you suffered for us Jameel. I have not captured that yet. Mainly because it just didn't seem very photogenic. I didn't even think about the salt part of it and the flies.
