Ruby Lemonade

One of the hazards of going out to shoot with a group of photographers is destination by committee. In this case I was with a group of photographers up along the Olympic Peninsula and the chosen destination was Ruby Beach. The cloud cover was rather thick with few chances of breaking up for a sunrise but we dutifully hung out pretending there was still a chance. This is an image of Abbey Island I captured while killing time along the shore.

It is well known that the camel is the result of a committee trying to make a horse.

This is pretty nice Alan. I really like the focus on that foreground rock, it's pretty cool. If you had more stormy clouds above Abby island along with that cool rock (horizontal pano?) I think it would be really awesome.

I didn't crop this image at all so I will have to go back and dig around to see if I took a similar shot with a wider perspective. For me this one was all about making that rock carry an otherwise gray scene.
