Very nice to see Bill! I was after the Rosette last week, but the moon was too bright and the Rosette was too close to it when I finally got clear skies, so I switched and shot Bodes Galaxy instead.

So I really appreciate your Rosette here, I like the look that you got.

Bill,

Great result on this fine DSO - always love seeing the Rosette. I imaged this recently in narrowband, but this natural color image is also very pleasing. Love the colors and the details.

I have been considering stepping up from my ASI1600 to the mono version of the ASI2600 - how do you like that OSC version?

Mike,

This is my first dedicated, cooled astrocam so I don't have anything to compare it to other than my DSLR, and it obviously blows that away. The camera's performance is very good, but many people (including me) have experienced issues with USB connections. This camera is very finnicky about cables - I have identical high quality triple-shielded cables from the same manufacturer and one works while the other does not. There is also an issue with oil from the thermal pad behind the sensor leaking onto the glass covering the sensor. This issue was supposedly limited to the 2nd production lot (mine was part of that batch) and corrected since then. Thankfully, it's a 5 minute cleanup job with a proper camera lens cleaning kit. But other than those issues, this camera takes great images with very little dark noise and no amp glow at all.
