Rio Grande sunset

Here are 2 images captured within close proximity of each other just a few moments apart. It shows just how much the lighting can change out in the desert. I am staying with some of my oldest images of the park and will progress through subsequent trips. Note: this is how I processed the images in early 2013. If going back, which I may do, I may process differently however the lighting is faithful to what I saw. Canon 5dmkii, sigma 24-70/2.8 EX. The 3rd image is my turning to the western sky capturing the last bit of sun. Also to note: The cottonwoods below on the left of the river is the Rio Grande Campground. On the right, just below the hills is Boquillas Mexico. A very small, very remote Mexican village that only got electricity post 2010 and only by a few solar panels. Homes are not heated and residents sleep outside in the summer months. I may go into more of this in the future from my day trip over there.

a few moment later

Just before the sunset maybe 5 or 10 minutes earlier, reverse view

I really like the second image with the pastels in the sky casting a pink glow to the cliffs on the left. The last image is well composed with the prickly pear cactus down in fromt and the river leading my eye up to the setting sun. Nice set.
