Hello,

I have this photograph and I want to remove the fence that was in front of the camera when the picture was taken.
Is it possible to remove the fence, or at least make it weaker?
The tools I can use are either Gimp or Photoshop CS3.

Thanks in advance for any sugestion.

Welcome to FocalWorld! It's great to have you.

In both Gimp and CS3, you have a Clone tool available. Just be sure to have it with softer edgers, that will help it blend in better. That's probably the best you can do with older tools.

Welcome to the forum.

The newer tools will make this pretty easy. Many offer a free trail which you can download and try out.

Hello,
I have found a way to edit the photo with Gimp and remove the fence.
I handled the Sky with the Clone tool and the trees and buildings with the Dodge tool, the data is not lost completely but just darkend by the fence.
It is a lot of work and I am learning while I am doing it and would have to re-edit some parts.
That is too much work I have decided to take the photo as it is with the fence. I don't want a doctored photo.
But here is what I have done.

It looks like you took care of it. The newer Photoshop and Lightroom have Content Aware fill that helps out in those cases, and of course they have now added the AI Generative tools.

You should look into Photoshop Express if you don't want to spend the money on the full blown Photoshop. It will have some better tools then Gimp for editing photos, at least in my opinion.
