Red Rock Canyon State Park, CA

My rework for today is of the classic scene at Red Rock State Park. I darkened the sky a bit, changed the crop to make a better composition. and reduced the gamma exposure to 93.
Nice scene and I like the composition with the vegetation (creosote?) down in front. I have stopped at this park once but never ventured into the area you show above. I think I missed the best part of the place.

I don't know how this got separated from the salvage Saturday tread, Alan. Is it possible to move it to that thread?

Doug, these rocks look vaguely familiar to the scenes in a very old sci-fi movie, I saw it decades ago, the movie plot was a staged Mars landing sort, three astronauts were chased through some desert.

Way to go Doug! This is sure a really cool view from Red Rock. It's a cool little park that I drive by all the time.... :)

One of these days I need to stop there and photograph, images like this remind me that I need to.

I am sure you are right, Oliver. There are lots of places along route 14 and 395 where westerns and sci-fi movies were shot.

Thanks, Jim. During a wet winter and spring, the place is covered with wildflowers.
