Recent Film Exploration

Over the past couple of months I have been exploring film (again). It's been 25 years since I've shot any film but I'm having a blast. Color film gets developed at a local lab and I scan the images. I'm developing my own black and whites using developers like Caffenol (Instant coffee) and Ilfasol 3. It's funny though that I never got into developing my own images back in the 70s and 80s but I'm having a blast now. The cameras I'm shooting include a Leica M4-P, Canon Canonet QL17 GIII and most recently a Kodak Retina IIc.

These images were taken a few days ago with the Leica M4-P and Kodak ProImage 100 film.

Very cool Bob! It's great you are getting back into it. And it's great you are developing some of your own film. I started developing my own film when I was 11 years old and it was a blast to watch the film come alive. I have several film cameras I have started to use also, my problem is I forget to use them when I am out. I have them in my truck, but somehow always forget to grab them. I do have 1 roll of film done that I need to get developed, and one roll half exposed. I was waiting to finish up the current roll so I could take them both in at the same time.

#1 and 3 are my favorites of these.

Thanks Jim! At first, I was dealing with the same issue of not grabbing the film camera. But as I started getting more comfortable with a hot shoe meter and the functioning of my film cameras, I started carrying them more. I do find however, I need to be deliberate about carrying ONE camera so I just shoot it. If I carry more than one, only one gets used . . .
