And Ben, I have no flicker on mine at night, so no need for you to expect that it will.

There has to be a lockable simple Remote Release for the R5, that would be crazy if there wasn't one. Worst case scenerio, use the interval timer that's in camera with the 1 sec intervals.

The flicker problem, as Jim observed, is a day issue esp as clouds move and change the lighting conditions. For night, you have to shoot a series of stills and do the TL in post production.

Also old remotes should work for R5. As Mike noted, the remote socket is in the front (I actually like that better than the side). Its the same socket (N3) and all functions should work incl. intervalometer (if the remote has that).

Jim, the issue here is flicker. No use to do intervals at night.

But, I did find a hidden port on the R5 that accepts my old remote so just for you I will try one full manual and locked remote. I fully expect it to have flicker.

This is a still that is exactly like the video, f2.8 1/8 second ISO6400 70mm

Jim it should take you to the post I titled "after dark". Its just a small distance down.

No need for a new post. We can finish the discussion there.

That occurred to me. I was not able to see the moon from my deck at the time so no telling. I set the camera going an watch TV.
