Puffins!

I took a trip to the Farne Islands in the UK a few weeks ago where its possible to capture pictures of the resident seabirds with relatively short telephoto lenses. I took these on my 70-200mm F4 on the 6dMii. Never taken bird photos before so was a new genre of photography for me!

Wow Graeme! The Puffin is an awesome bird to have as your first bird photos! I don't do much bird photography, but I recall being up in Alaska and one of the highlights of my trip was being able to photograph some puffins. But it was with a really long lens. So that's great you could capture these with a mid range zoom.

My favorite is #2. Love that composition and negative space in the image.

Great shots! A friend of mine will photograph puffin when he visits some islands off the coast of Washington in June. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.

I’m partial to 2 and 3. 2 is a good portrait and 3 tells a story.
