Processing of the Eclipse

I wanted to share an edit of the Eclipse that I did.

First of all, the images I used were not taken by me. They were taken by a person on another forum that wanted help blending his photos and coming up with a more "HDR" look. He provided 17 NEF files for people to download and process. Out of the 17, I only used 2.

That's interesting Ryan! It looks pretty good. How did you end up blending this?

Any tips for someone who may have shot the eclipse but is struggling with how to process it?

Thanks Jim. I've noticed that many people online posted the typical B&W versions. I wanted something with a bit more "Sun" color too it.

As far as processing, I used luminosity masks, as I do with all masking in PS. For the corona color, I think I just cranked up the white balance a bunch and added a "Soft Light" layer with a blended orange paint brush. It was tricky keeping the integrity of the tiny flares intact. Again, I used some more advanced contrasting with luminosity masks to preserve detail.
