I hadn't planned on capturing fireworks, but my Granddaughter was staying the night at a friends house who lives in the town of Eaton, Colorado. She texted my daughter that she was going to go see fireworks last night with her friends family in Eaton. I looked up the info and it was for a Drone and Fireworks show. Eaton is a smaller town, so I wasn't expecting a lot, but I thought it still sounded fun, and it would be a great time to work on my video skills at night.
This image was short horizontally, as I might use it in a timelapse, but I cropped in vertical to post here as a single photo since everything happened in a small area of the image.
Where everyone was sitting was divided by a school road. This was going on at Eaton High School. Most had their lawn chairs set up on the far side of the road, but there were a few people on the closer side, so I found a spot where I wasn't blocking anyone. At the time there was a large grass field area open up. As the time got closer a few peoples came and set up in the grass in front of me. As soon as this family stopped, I was immediately thinking, this could be really cool. They could balance well with the fireworks and really add to it.
The drone show was 10 minutes, the fireworks were 5 minutes. And it was a really great show. I will post the video of it later, but for now, I wanted to post an image from it.
