Powder Ski Turn Composite

I held my RX100 IV steady and shot continuous while my partner skied down this back-country ridge near Stevens Pass WA on a great day of powder skiing. Layered the best in PS then copied and blended just the skier from the top layers into the final layer.

Check out where he disappears in a powder cloud between the 3rd & 4th shots - we call that being in the white room.

That’s very cool Jim! What a fun action sequence.

I remember learning on that ski slopes can be very deceiving when looking at them from the bottom. I had to learn the lesson the hard way at one of the ski resorts in Washington that I don’t recall the name of from years ago. Being young and perhaps too brave I ended up having to just about slide back down it as I would fall over at every turn! Oh to be young and crazy! But to attempt what you guys were skiiing would never enter into my wildest dreams.

Thanks guys. I'm not young or crazy, but 50+ years of skiing, with 30+ of that in the back-country helps me keep things in control. My buddy Jeff in this picture is one of the best skiers I get out with, he's a lot of fun to shoot since he appreciates my pictures and we plan and coordinate shots like this.
